ps is not informative with big environments

There seems to be a problem with ps in that when sizeof(environ) +
sizeof(args) > 1024 it doesn't print out all the information it
should.  It seems to not find the command line and then only prints out
the command name.  Has anyone hacked up ps to handle environments that
are larger than 1K?  If so, what do I do to fix this?
