ls(1) on System V

I discovered this bug several weeks ago.  The appropriate reports have
been made and it should be fixed in a (near) future release.  In the
mean time, a work-around is to use "ls -C *" instead of "ls -C".  It
seems to do the multi-column thing if all the files are specified
explicitly.  Wierd.
