Mod.unix is alive and well

This message is just to be sure you all know that mod.unix is alive.
I have already sent out about twenty digests of recent net.unix and
net.unix-wizards postings. I will continue to monitor those two
newsgroups for items of interest for the next few (about 4) weeks
to ease the transition to mod.unix. Anything sent directly to the
list address, though will receive special attention, rather than the
quasi-random nature of my scanning through this mass of bytes.

To post articles to mod.unix, send them as mail to unix at cbosgd.UUCP.
If you want to send comments to the moderator or other material not
intended for mod.unix posting, send it to unix-wizards at cbosgd.UUCP.
If you are running 2.10.2, and the moderators file has been updated
with the unix at cbosgd.UUCP address, a "posting" to mod.unix will end
up being mailed to me automatically.

I go into a bit more detail in the introductory digest, but some
starting ground rules are that mod.unix is a forum for technical
discussions related to the Unix (TM) Operating System. It is *not*
net.legal, net.bugs, net.lan, net.dcom, net.rumor, or net.flame.
My current opinion is that discussions concerning Emacs belong in
net.emacs, discussions of sendmail belong in net.mail, discussions
of uucp and tcp/ip and water cooling for mainframes and what a trade
secret is all belong some place else. Feel free to make a case for
any of these, though (to unix-request). If your site is not receiving
mod.unix, contact your site netnews administrator. He/She should
fix the problem or contact me. After I had posted several digests,
it occurred to me that it had been quite a while since mod.unix was
created and maybe some people were missing it, so a creation was issued
at that point. That would explain why you may be missing the first
several. If so, let me know and I'll see what I can come up with
to get you the info without re-posting everything. Thanks.
