Reliable/Robust 4.2BSD uda.c wanted

We're consigned to using 4.2BSD because we want to run CCI's OfficePower 3.04
on Vaxen 11/780s.  We are having trouble loading 4.2 because of disk errors on
our RA81.  My research leads me to doubt that the distributed uda50 driver uda.c
is robust enough to be usable (the 4.3BSD note "Changes to the Kernel in 4.3BSD"
acknowledges the deficiencies in the 4.2 driver).

We using watmath!arwhite's 10/13/83 4.1BSD version of uda.c presently.  I'm
looking for something similar (or better!) for 4.2BSD.
