Restore a bad dump

Hello net.

        I'll be glad to have your help on this problem.

        We made a dump for /u and a few day after we made another
dump on the same tape. This time the dump was aborted resulting with a
tape containing a partial dump with directories+some files and
followed by the good files from the first dump.

[ Isn't there any Murphy Law saying that in this case it will be the
only backup you have.]

        Is there any convenient way to skip the bad image and analyze
the rest of the tape maybe using the directories saved in the second
dump ?
