What kinds of things would you want in the GNU OS?

The obvious choice is 386-based AT-bus machines. They're ubiquitous,
relatively cheap, and pretty well documented. But, knowing RMS, he's
likely to go for IBM PC/RTs and Microvaxes just because there are
thousands of them at the MIT Athena Project.
