GNU-tar vs dump(1)

everybody's talking about GNU-tar and i'm convinced! it's (from what i've
read) much better than tar, dump, restore, cpio, etc.

but how about posting it in comp.sources.unix, comp.sources.misc or so? then
we all can have a copy to evaluate.
