I have to ask the obvious question. Via what telco service are your users
trying to do these transfers?

I use a both PC Pursuit as well as uucp w/ rlogin across the internet. During
the day, the delays in the INternet make using uucp almot impossible. PCP
has also been very intermittent for me. Unfortunately, with PCP it's impossible
to anticipate when you might have problems.

The common symptom is that about half way through a file transfer (usually
about the 25-35k mark) uucp will time out. If this is the real problem,
there isn't too much you can do about it.

I've tried using SCO, BSD, and HBD (BNU) on my Xenix 286 system. HDB has
proven to be the most reliable while using networks that are heavily loaded.
