Termcaps for VGA modes

I am sorry if this is the wrong spot for this, but I don't know 
where else to post this request...

I asked the support here a termcap can be modified to allow for
a dial-up user can use the 50x80 mode provided by a VGA card
under either ANSI or some other term. emulation. Appearently
there is noone here who either can or would answer my question.

It doesn't seem as if it would be too uncommon of a problem, so 
I present this to the net. Does anyone have a termcap for a VGA
card (or can someon tell an utter moron like me how to modify
a termcap to make it work?)

If there are enough replies I will post a summary of them...
