Help! I think I screwed up. (/etc/issue)

Help. I think I just screwed up big time.

I wanted a more sensible greeting message for my users on ISC unix so I
changed the /etc/issue file.  Shortly after this my modem hung up on
me and now won't answer.  What happened? This being Saturday, no one is 
in the system room to tell me if the entire system is down.  Is it likely that 
I will have to reload the software.
