terminal freezes

While running under Xenix 2.3.2 on a 386 and using Digi-Board multi
port cards, Wyse terminals have been freezing.

The freeze doesen't always happen, which makes life tough. However,
it is related to taking the terminal into or out of raw mode. To
make matters tougher, terminals running one application freeze while
another doesn't. Also, the release of the device driver is old and no
longer supported. My choice was to update the device driver, but there
is resistenance to that idea - primararly because the application
terminals of the people who installed the system aren't affected.

Freeing the terminals will occure in one of three possible ways:

1) stty < /dev/ttyi??
stty outout prints and then hangs. A break will free the terminal.
2) kill -9 PID
3) Reboot the system.

Any clues would be appreciated.

Please respond by e-mail.
