Modem problem with Xenix 2.3.3

DCD is controlled by the modem, not the computer.  The modem should
be configured to have DCD on while it has a connection, and turn it
off when the connection is broken.

It sounds like you're simply losing the connection through the phone
line.  Not something I would blame the serial driver for, unless it
is turning DTR off for a moment.

(By the way, pin 20 is DTR, not RTS.  RTS is pin 4.)
