Viability of Xenix-NET to serve a DOS network?

I would like feedback from anyone using Xenix-NET on a '386 box
networked with DOS machines. We are considering such a system and plan
to have 14 PC's hooked up to the '386 machine which will function as the
server on the network. Another alternative would be to use Novell, 3Com
or Banyan for a server and run the uulink software to maintain our
news/mail connectivity. I have heard a variety of things about uulink
and as a result, am not terribly confident in it.

The primary function of the system is word processing. Except in a few
cases, files do not need to be shared that much, but peripherals like
printers and modems do. The secondary function is running the
membership database using Progress in either the Xenix or DOS LAN
version. There would be at most four users accessing the database.

If there is anyone in the Boston area who would be able to show us your
system or at least answer some questions, that would be much appreciated.

Please e-mail your replies. If there is sufficent response I'll
summarize.

Thanks,
Bill
