SCO Unix 3.2 user data base

We want to change the user ids (UID number) on our SCO Unix 3.2 system,
however changing them in the /etc/passwd (as you would in any sane
System V system) file creates errors. The sysadmsh doesn't seem to you
change the ids and worse still if you expire an account you can't
re-activate it. Is there any solutions to these problems ?

Regards,
