sendmail documentation wanted

Does anybody have any documentation on sendmail and it's configuration
file?  This is for an Ultrix 1.2 system, so something for that or
4.2bsd would be great.  The documentation in the manuals isn't too
clear on some points, especially on what order the rules are applied.
