WordPerfect under Unix - Make it like DOS?

A task at hand here is to get the Unix version of WordPerfect to work
like the DOS version, so that users who 1) have to switch back and
forth between environments, or 2) learned one version and don't want
to bother learning another (we won't comment about these:) can be
productive.  The stumbling block here is the use of the ALT and CTRL
keys.  DOS WP makes extensive use of them, and in the Unix version,
they are mapped to F11 and F12 on extended keyboard 386 machines.

The question:  Is there a way to re-re-map the ALT and CTRL keys back
to where they were in the first place?  The README files with Unix-WP
suggest that this is possible, but they sure don't go into explicit
detail on how to do it.

Any help would be appreciated.

PLATFORM: Zenith (and eventually Compaq) 386, running ISC Unix 386/ix.
