Xelos (System 5) curses bug

We have just switched to System 5 r2 (Xelos, Perkin-Elmers port). I
have some programs that use curses, and have discovered a problem with
refreshing. It seems that curses is not attempting to delete characters
that should not be on the screen. This is most evident in a bar graph
program that we have that monitors system performance. Only in certain
cases are the updates done properly. I have not determined the exact
sequence of events to reproduce this anomoly, but it is so evident on
our system, that it must something major.

Has anybody seen something like this. Perkin-Elmer may not have
fixed any initial problems with the System 5 curses. They may have also
introduced this one. Anybody have any ideas?
