Obviously you are running the mm package on an old version of troff. The newer version of troff have a \g escape with returns the format of a register. In the mm macros are some lines doing something like: .af x \\gy (Names of registers are just for the example.) Just remove those lines and it will work. Jaap Akkerhuis
