disk drives?

Richard is dreaming again.

I want to upgrade my disk.
I heard about the Seagate ST01 scsi host converter.

On a IBM PC it is a card that converts ST506 commands to scsi.
So, why not on the unix-pc? The WD1010 disk controller is ST506 right?
So,,, why not remove the WD1010 connect the input pins "somehow" to
the ST01? Are the input pins to the WD1010 a PC BUS? Well then, what
kind of bus are they? Is this idea too silly? I work as an application
programmer and know little about hardware, however it seems that I have
all the building blocks to a solution. (Except where to put the card
and how to get power.)

Why do I want to go scsi?

Seagate is coming out with a new drive in March.

Here are the specs

ST296N 1/2 height ------- or stack three with at 3B1 top. I like the
idea of buying them one at a time. or stack 8 full height ST4192N's in a
box outside and get 1.348 gigabytes on a unix-pc?
