What I like about the unix-pc group is that it makes it easier to search
for information when going back over the postings.  Also, I put

unix-pc.
comp.
etc etc etc

in my nn init file, and it shows me all the unix-pc stuff first.  THEN,
I cruise through the comp.sys.att group and catch messages from all of
those poor souls who do not get the unix-pc distribution.  Very convenient.
