Making BASH on a 3b1, with SYSV Unix.

I'm having trouble making Bash 1.3 on my 3b1 using gcc and 3.51.

The compiler apparently cannot deal with jobs.c or nojobs.c.  It
looks as if either one of those wants include files that are not
part of SYSV.

Has anyone brought BASH up on a UNIXPC, and if so, how did you do
it.  I would also like to hear if there are other people who tried
and gave up.
