Compiling gcc on a 3b1

I have just compiled gcc-1.35 on my 3b1. I had to use the gnu-cpp
to get around the "too many define" errors and simpifily(sp) a few
statements everything went fine.

When I try to compile itself (really the unmodify version) I run
out of core. My configuration is 2 meg of ram and 4 meg of swap.

My question is. Is it worth the effort to reconfigure the system
to have 5 meg of swap just so I can have gcc compiled with itself.
Or will 1 more meg of swap even help?

Second when I compile anything with gcc what seems to be the gnu-cpp
complains about #indent and -undef. Is there something I am doing
wrong?

thanks
-Darryl
