Call for Proposals to Chair the Winter 1993 USENIX Technical
Conference
   
The USENIX Association is seeking proposals from people interested in
serving as the Technical Program Chair for the 1993 Winter Conference,
to be held January 25-29 in San Diego, California.

We are seeking an energetic person with the following qualifications:

Excellent administrative and public speaking skills
Knowledge of the timely and appropriate topics in the field
Ability to solicit good panel members and appropriate speakers
Attendance at previous USENIX conferences

Proposals should be brief (one page) including following points:
 
a.  conference:  date and location

b. statement of purpose

c.  preference for member of the Board of Directors who will
serve as liaison.

d.  form of submissions:  abstracts, extended abstracts, or full
papers.

e.  special format:  such as three days, one each on x, y, and z.

f.  list of topics to be addressed, as in a call for papers.

g.  track preference:  single or double
 
h.  any special features, such as plans for improving quality of
papers.

i.  list of potential program committee members or a description of
its possible composition, to include biography and references.
(The Board has the option to appoint someone to the committee in
addition to the forthcoming chair.)  
 
Proposals are subject to approval by the  USENIX Board of Directors.
Details concerning the schedule, site and call for papers will be
worked out with the Association after the appointment of the chair
has been made.

Proposals are due:  January 4, 1991.
