Hi.there,

     This is a tidbit of maybe-useful information. Recall those
TRW modular adaptors used by the 3B2? Here is the algorithm for
decoding the part numbers. Follow the path from left to right:

                                             *-----*
                        *----*          /----| 005 |----\
                   /----| 21 |----\     |    *-----*    |
                   |    *----*    |     |               |
        *---*      |     MALE     |     |    *-----*    |
        |232| ----<                >---<-----| 006 |----->----
        *---*      |              |     |    *-----*    |
                   |    *----*    |     |               |
                   \----| 22 |----/     |    *-----*    |
                        *----*          \----| 010 |----/
                        FEMALE               *-----*

                        005 = ACU/Modem
                        006 = TERM/PRT w/o DCD<-->DSR jumper
                        010 = TERM/PRT w/  DCD<-->DSR jumper

     For the terminal printer adaptor, DCD (pin 8) is always
connected, and the 006-vs-010 determines whether there is a
jumper from pin 8 to pin 6.

     For example, 232-22-005 is a female ACU/modem adaptor. Hope
this is helpful.  Corrections/updates welcome.

     Steve
