I am considering adding a bigger hard drive to my 3B2 300 systems here, and
would like to know if anyone has any advice or info about how this is to be
done. I have heard a suggestion that good drives for the 3B are Maxtor
1140 and 2190, but some cautions were also mentioned. Specifically, how
easy is it to format these drives from a 3B and how to do it. My info
has it that either of these drives can be used in place of either the
on-board 32MB drive or an XM 72MB drive - i.e., they are the same size and
appear to be compatible interfaces. So, two questions:
1) Where can I obtain these drives and information about them
2) Anyone out there ever used one of these drives with a 3B2 and how did
you accomplish installation, formatting, etc, and with what degree of
success

Specifically what I would like to do is to replace the 32MB on-board drive
with the 72MB drive from the XM module, and install the Maxtor monster drive
(140 or 190 MB) in the XM cabinet.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
