Connecting printers to serial ports using long lines

We had the same problem.  RS232 is only good for about 50 feet, and our
cable was just about 50 feet long.  We dropped the baud rate and things
cleaned up.  You may have to get a repeater box to enhance the signal,
which was going to be our next step.
