tiff files and bitmaps

I need a program that converts tiff format images into some other format.  
Aceptable formats are anyone that the pbm bitmap routines (from
netnews) will handle.  For example:
    tiff->macpaint
    tiff->sun raster

etc.

If you have any tiff munching code at all I would be interested in it, as
it could be a starting point.
