inodes

I have looked at man newfs, there is no option for increasing the number
of inodes per cylinder group. ( -i adjusts the density of the inodes, but
I am already at the max of 2048 i/g). I have tried using a smaller
fragment size while adjusting the cyl/group and the block-size, but the
system panics and crashes when I try to access the partition.

Here is a sequence of what I tried :

the newfs works ok, but when I try to mount & access the disk, the system
