Connecting H-P optical disk

We have Sun 3/60, SunOS 3.5, SCSI disk (Micropolis) ?175 MEG and would
like to be able to connect a H-P series 6300 Model 650/A rewritable
optical disk drive to the spare SCSI port of the existing disk. I know
this is a much-discussed topic, but cannot recall any mention of this type
of disk. The H-P has a 50-pin Centronics port, is it correct to connect
every pin to the same-numbered one on the SUN disk (except Pin 26)?

Will this version of SUN-OS be able to drive the disk? the manual gives a
long list of which SCSI commands are recognised (I will send them if
anybody asks) also:

18751 tracks/side, 15875 tracks/inch, 17or 31 sectors/track, 1024 or 512
bytes/sector (media dependent)

Thank you very much if anybody can help us. Mark
