RS6000 nfsd in infinite loop

We have an RS6000 acting as an NFS server for several other RS6000s and RTs.
Every day or so, we get "NFS server foo not responding, still trying" and
when I run over to the RS6000, I find that one of the nfsds is in an
infinite loop spinning on the run queue (no wait chan). Equally as bizarrely,
only that single looping nfsd has ever apparently been scheduled to service
any NFS requests--all the other nfsds are sitting there idly sleeping, having
used exactly no CPU time (at least according to the ps listing.)

The only solution appears to be to reboot. Anyone seen this? I believe
we're running a relatively late-model release (9023??) but I'm not in front
of the machines now to check.
