Scanner Software for Sharp JX-450

I'm looking for some help in locating a piece of software.

A coworker of mine is looking for software to interface a Sharp JX-450
flatbed color scanner to a RS/6000.  Commercial or shareware or public
domain would be fine.  It doesn't have to be much of an editor as long as
it provides some control over the scanner.  I'm not familiar with such
things so please excuse any ignorance I've exposed.
