For people who (a) want TeX, mf, bibtex, makeindex, (b) do not want
to set it up, I have prepared mytex.tar.Z (about 600K) which can be
ftp-ed from galton.math.ucla.edu (128.97.4.43). It is the only file
in /pub, you cannot miss it (although ls is broken). I have included
gcc-1.31 compiled binaries of virtex, initex, virmf, inimf, dvips,
makeindex, bibtex. This is TeX 3.0, the big version. I have not included
format files (it is trivial to dump them from initex), but I have
included the shell script one-liners I use to launch tex, latex, slitex,
texsis, etex (extended plain), etc. Also included are listings of the
tex and mf directories, which indicates where everything is installed.
Fonts, macros, postscript files, etc. must still be downloaded from
ymir.claremont.edu or labrea.stanford.edu

O, by the way, make that gcc-1.37.1.
