Solutions to writable ttys (Was: Re: Slaying Gould dragon)

Have you seen the UCI "ttyd" package?  It lets each user specify
one of the following actions when a write to the terminal (via
write/talk/wall or a provided special subroutine) is requested.

	+ Write to tty
	+ Refuse, with optional reason
	+ Send message by mail instead
	+ Pipe message to a program
	+ Connect writer to a specified internet port

Actions can be stacked and popped so that programs can change
the action and restore it later.

I don't believe there really IS a GAS SHORTAGE.. I think it's all
just a BIG HOAX on the part of the plastic sign salesmen--
..to sell more numbers!!
