Comparing Sequent and Encore systems

We are preparing to purchase a new system to support Unix timesharing for the
Computing Facility here at UCI.  We would like to hear from anyone who runs,
has compared or otherwise has opinions on the Encore Multimax (running the
Umax 4.2 system) as compared with the Sequent Balance system (running the    
Dynix system).  We would like to hear your reasons for choosing one over
the other, or your good or bad experiences with one and/or the other.  These 
opinions should help us confirm or question our own experiences evaluating 
these systems.
