Recently several people have asked if there translators to go from troff
(ditroff) to PostScript. I know of several; I am sure that there are more.

Transcript from Adobe Systems
I am the most familiar with this system. I have used V2.0 and it
is OK. There are numerous bugs but it isn't too hard to get around them.
The one that bothered me the most was that I couldn't specify underlined
fonts because font U wasn't defined. A source license is available for
$1795.00.

Eroff from Elan Computer Group, Inc.
This is an excellent package that contains DWB 2.0, previewers, and
drivers for HP Laserjet and PostScript printers. It is supported and
available as binaries for many systems. It also has excellent X windows
support. I have never used this product myself, but have had glowing
reports from people who have.

devps from Specialized Systems Consultants, Inc.
The devps package is a collection of programs that support device
independent troff in the PostScript environment. It includes capabilities
to include PostScript files from other systems, including MacDraw and
MacPaint. It is also easy to add other fonts (19 are supplied) such as the
Hershey fonts. Source is available for $495.00.

They also have a program that converts from old-troff (otroff) to
ditroff and a Tek-4014 to PostScript translator.

Within the last year there was a ditroff to PostScript converter
posted to comp.sources.unix. I have it somewhere on a tape but our tape
drive is dead (temporary I hope) so I can't check it. I haven't tried to
use it so I don't know any thing about it.
