I just bought a copy of Unix System V/386, System Administrators Guide
by Prentice Hall. ISBN 0-13-940891-6. In the back it has an excellent
chapter on performance tuning. It goes over each output from Sar, what
it means and how you can utilize the information to fine-tune various
buffer sizes, partitions, etc. It is the best source of Sar and performance
information I've ever come across. While the manual is mainly for V/386,
the sar information would apply to most releases.
