What Happened To My Daily Dose Of comp.unix.questions?

Over the past week about three articles have graced comp.unix.questions
here at ontek. Previously it was all I could do to keep from being
drowned in "What do the letters in grep mean?" I would appreciate it if
someone familiar with news who wouldn't mind giving me some advice would
SEND MAIL to me. I have a feeling that posting to comp.unix.questions
won't help...

The specifics of the situation are that we are running news version B
2.11 on SunOS 4.0.1 on a 4/110. We get all kinds of other neat mail on
other newsgroups but comp.unix.* and comp.sys.mac are empty ever
since...... ever since... ever since I changed the sys file (ouch! it
must be my fault!) I've checked and double checked it. Here, YOU check
it...

  ME:comp.ai,comp.os.research,comp.unix,comp.lang.c,comp.misc,\
                              ^^^^^^^^^
  comp.sys.sun,comp.sys.mac,comp.sys.amiga,comp.sys.hp,comp.windows,\
               ^^^^^^^^^^^^
  comp.sources,comp.std.c,comp.sys.misc,comp.archives,\
  comp.databases,comp.editors,comp.lang.postscript,\
  misc.jobs,misc.misc,misc.forsale,\
  rec.aviation,rec.arts,rec.autos,rec.audio,rec.mag,rec.misc,\
  rec.music.cd,rec.music.dementia,rec.video,rec.bicycles,rec.games.video,\
  rec.humor,rec.models.rc,rec.music.misc,rec.nude,rec.puzzles,rec.skiing,\
^^^^^^^^ yes we have perverts here
  alt,news,sci,ca.driving,ca.general,\
  soc.men,soc.misc,soc.motss,soc.women,soc.singles,\
  talk.bizarre,talk.politics.misc,talk.rumors,\
  to.ontek::
  uunet:alt,world,comp,sci,misc,news,rec,soc,ca,talk,na,usa,to::

And now that I think about it, comp.sys.sun has been rather quiet
lately. To anticipate a couple of well-meant questions....

YES, I have inews -C'd the groups I added (mostly rec.whatnot and
alt.whatever, we have indeed been getting those new ones).

YES, I sent mail to the mysterious uunet!root asking him/her/it to
update whatever was necessary on that end. I received a terse but
positive confimation that this had been done. We have indeed been
receiving articles from groups that we hadn't before.

In summary, WHERE O WHERE HAS OUR NEWS GONE AWRY? I find it hard to
believe that there would be a sudden drop in traffic on these, the most
heavily posted groups. Again, please mail your responses, lest I not see
thyne answers!

     - thanks,
          Mike Lee
