zmodem and SunOS

   Greetings.

I obtained the code for the sz/rz zmodem utilities (from uunet, if anyone
is looking for them,) and am now trying to set them up.

I don't know an awful lot about where SunOS falls in terms of BSD/SysV
compatibility, but I *do* know the following:

I tried making sz as sysvr3, sysv, and bsd. None of those defaults work.
It says in the documentation to read over a few .c files, and make any
necessary hacks for different systems. As I understand it, SunOS is a bastard
offspring of both BSD and SysV, tending more toward SysV.

My question, simply, is as follows: Does anyone have either a finished
product copy or any hints toward my successful compilation of sz to run on a
sun3 or sun4, running SunOS (uncertain of version on the sun3) or 4.1.1 (for
the sun4)?

Any help would be most appreciated. This DOES seem like a FAQ, and for that
I apologize, but I can't find the information anywhere.

   Thx,
   Andrew <reynhout at cs.uri.edu>
