Do any UNIX vendors run on IDE disks ?

It's not guaranteed to work.  At least one unix port would, under some
circumstances, try to determine the geometry of a disk drive by
experiment.  Since many IDE drives are willing to set their geometry
to whatever is requested, this can lead to great confusion.

Just call SCO and ask if it's supported, or make sure you can return
the software or hard disk if it doesn't work.
