ISC 2.2.1 groups != Sun/BSD groups

That's not what Tan (the poster to whom you are replying) wants to know.
newgrp doesn't figure into how BSD handles multiple groups (and how
Tan obviously wants them to work).  newgrp is the inconvenient S5'ism
to allow access to multiple groups.
