How about a chat script like this:

telbit	=,-,	"" \dAT~&FE0M1S61=255S51=254S52=2S54=3S55=3S64=1S130=2S131=2S111=30S58=0S68=3\r\c OK \pATDT\T\r\c CONNECT

Works just swimmingly for me.
