Problem with ESIX, VP/ix, and network

I've discovered a problem that using VP/ix on an ESIX system console
causes network connections to die. I've just talked to ESIX tech support --
they said they have never seen it before, but will look into it. What with
the u-area bug (they said two weeks away, BTW), they probably won't get to
my problem too soon; so, I decided to ask the net.

Here's the problem: I have a 33 MHz 386 running ESIX rev. D with a Western
Digital card connected to a Sony workstation over thin ethernet. Everything
works fine until I start up VP/ix (ISC ver. 1.2) on the ESIX system console.
After that, the network connections all die -- NFS, rlogin, telnet, ping, etc
quit working! This does not happen if I run VP/ix from an attached terminal
or over the network, say the Sony rlogined to the ESIX box.

Does anyone else have this problem? Please respond by email to:

Thank you.
