Hello,
I would like to find out how difficult it is to add a third party to the
DecStation-3100 (the MIPS based system).
What I was looking at was a 702Mb CDC WREN-V (94181-638), which run about
$2500.
What I need to know is:
(a) has anyone done this
(b) are you running it synchronously or asynchronously?
(c) where did you get it & any extras you had to buy; in particular,
the 3100 supports synchronous SCSI - how useful is this?
(d) how difficult was it to install Ultrix on the beast?
I will summerize & respond.
