simply supplying a pointer -- I am not affiliated with NRC in any way.

There is a company in Los Angeles, Network Research Corporation, which
sells software that runs on vax unix which talks XNS, the Xerox Network
Systems protocol. Anyone interested should contact them for exact
details, but the price shown on my price list is small (2-4) thousands of
dollars. The pointer info:

   Network Research Corporation
   1964 Westwood Boulevard Suite 200
   Los Angeles, CA 90025

   Phone: (213) 474-7717
   TWX: 910-343-6906

My understanding is that NRC will sell software for vax unix that talks
XNS which (1) performs low level (i.e., socket) driver activity,
(2) provides file transfer protocol, including remote login, execution,
sending mail, and (3) provides higher level protocols such as used by
Xerox star file servers -- in other words, you can use your vax as a
Xerox file server (thereby perhaps saving the $50,000 cost of buying
one from Xerox).

Again, this is not official from NRC but only my impressions from their
announcements and talking to them on the phone -- please contact NRC
for specific and/or definite details.
