A news group of this sort does not sound bad.  In fact it could serve
as an interesting source of information regarding what problems new
users of UNIX have and could influence the way software designers
build new software.  (It could also help vendors of UNIX, alot.)

Further, I think that people should be assigned for various classes
of questions that they and only they are responsible for answering.
This might avoid having unreliable answers/information on the net as well
as minimizing the amount of redundant answers also on the net.
By the way, does anyone know where /etc/rc comes from, or what dsw means
and really does, or why 0407 are magic numbers?  What's an inode?  Why
is there core?  Was that the name of a memory resident only graphics
package??
