If you do this, the driver in 4.2 can be convinced (via
>>>#define MRSP) to talk this protocol. 730's already have MRSP installed

Well, I asked our local field service rep. about getting a 730 chip for our
750s and he said
"don't see any problem there but, lets check to see if there is a
     non-mandatory FCO for the TU58s".
Well we went down to see our techs who maintain the PDP11s at our mountain
observatory and sure enough there is a non-mandatory FCO for TU58s:

		TU58-XB 5413489-S0008

a quick check to see if the FCO has been installed is if
socket E1 on the serial interface card(top left hand corner
inside the front of the 750 main cabinet) contains IC 23-294E2.
(the chip is at the top left hand corner of the board on the 750)

Turns out that our new 750 which is being installed today has the new PROM.
Our older ones don't. If you have problems accessing your TU58s have your
local field service people try this FCO and "#define MRSP".

Story is that the PDP11 RSTS people gave up on the TU58 and just dropped
support for the device from the OS, apparently RSX-11M can handle the data
rates ok.
