I upgraded the Concurrent Euclid compiler to 4.2 with no problems at
all. If you do not wish to do so yourself, you can contact the University
of Toronto at {decvax,ihnp4,linus,utzoo}!utcsrgv!phyllis and ask about the
Version 1.8 4.2BSD ConEuc tape. However, there is a charge for upgrades.

If you want to do the job yourself, follow these steps:

1) Make a version of vmunix with option COMPAT and run it.

2) load the source from your ConEuc distribution tape into a scratch directory
   with "tar x src"

3) Change to directory src/celib/celibvxs and type "MAKE". This will remake
the ConEuc libraries and kernel. Move the files celibvxs.a and cekervxs.o
   to /usr/lib/coneuc. Link /usr/lib/coneuc/celibvxq.a to celibvxs.a

4) Change to directory src/coneuc. type "MAKE". After a (not short) while,
this will finish. Move the files:
	para/para.out scanparse/scanparse.out semantic/semantic.out
	alloc/alloc.out coder??/coder??.out
   to /usr/lib/coneuc.

5) Change to directory src/cmd. type MAKE. install cec in /usr/bin.
   type "sec cedb.e". move cedb.out to /usr/bin/cedb

6) Boot the old version of vmunix. Everything should be great.
