Dick deserves nothing of the sort.  He hasn't *done* anything; it's all
talk.  He's repeated the same tired carping about how the world is going to
hell in a handbasket.  Worse still, he's posting just to comp.unix.wizards,
where he knows he'll have a sympathetic audience.  It has about as much
significance as a bunch of old men sitting on the porch of the country
store, spinning yarns about how the world was when they were young.

In fact, I know Dick well enough to be able to tell you that he has done
some work on an X server; he may just be trying to atone (however
slightly!) for that sin.  His words pale before his actions.

Face it, folks...talking about simpler code while other folks are writing
complex, bloated code equals more complex, bloated code.
