8mm tape devices

My apologies if this has been around already.

We have a prospective client interested in knowing if SCO Xenix/UNIX
supports 8 mm tape devices.

I am aware of 1/4 inch and 9 track systems, but to be honest I don't
know what an 8 mm tape "animal" looks like.  Can anyone shed some light
on this for me.
