TCP/IP - VP/ix - Tape Not cooperating

I am running Xenix on a Gateway 2000 33mhz 386 with:
	Xenix 2.3.3 (via VP/ix Update A not xnx155b)
	VP/ix 1.1
	TCP/IP 1.0.1h
Archive VP150 tape drive, VP 402 controller

With the above configuration Vp/ix doesn't work properly. It appears to
work but when copying files the files get trashed. If I reboot and load
a version of Xenix without the tape device driver loaded VP/ix works fine.

Several assoicates of mine are using the exact same hardware/software
configuration with the exception of no TCP/IP and they have no trouble using
VP/ix at the same time as having the tape device driver loaded.

Has anyone experienced this problem or have any suggestions on what to do
to fix it?

Thanks.
